WORKSHOP with Ellen Boyle
Do you have a desire to take your students beyond the physical body in order to deepen their self-awareness and sense of integrated wholeness? The sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda offer masterful maps of the inner workings of our psycho-spiritual nature—our Subtle Body or Sacred Anatomy.
In this 2-day module we will dive into a deep conceptual and experiential exploration of the 5 Koshas (physical body, energy body, mental/emotional body, wisdom body, spirit body) and the Chakras (the 7 main energy centers located in the human body that are a roadmap for our evolution) in order to expand our awareness and experience of the mind/body connection while deepening our understanding of the energy that makes us.
Through lecture, discussion and practice participants will acquire:
- A thorough understanding of the historical context of the origins of these teachings
- An individual experience of these subtle energies and how they can be balanced through asana, pranayama, meditation and chanting
- A profound respect for the power of the subtle body to influence and shape the physical body (our biography becomes our biology)
- Tools for weaving these teachings into a standard yoga class
Please come prepared to move with a journal for written reflection and a folder for handouts.
