A Ten-week Series with Ellen Boyle
March 23 – June 1
This 10-week series will explore Mindfulness as a way of de-stressing the body/mind/heart, befriending the self and deepening your experience of the present moment. We will use the book: A Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction by Bob Stahl, PhD, and Elisha Goldstein, PhD, as our text. I have taught this series for two years with my students at Cornish College of the Arts where they have experienced palpable reductions of stress, self-criticism and powerlessness.
This series is open to all levels of practitioners from beginners wanting to learn how to meditate to advanced practitioners seeking a deepening and community.
Each session will include asana, meditation, reflection and discussion.
Please purchase a copy of the text prior to the first session.
Please note: there will be no class on Thursday, May 11.
A series allows your teacher to teach progressively and to tailor the class, theme or goal as they get to know each individual over time. Staying with one group for several weeks also builds commitment, community, and understanding for both the student and the teacher. Research shows that we learn better, feel discomfort less, and are more optimistic when we feel included in community. Our series classes build that kind of inclusion.
