A 6-week Series with Bianca Raffety
October 6 – November 10
How often does your doctor, friend, therapist, etc, tell you “just meditate” when the topic of anxiety comes up? And how often have you said “I just can’t meditate” or “whenever I meditate my anxiety gets worse”? While there is a lot of evidence that meditation can help alleviate anxiety, meditation and anxiety can make for some rather distressing chemistry. With practice and patience, and a healthy dose of support, anxiety symptoms can indeed get better with meditation.
This series is structured to provide you with information and support around learning how to meditate when living with anxiety. We will explore the challenge of meditating with anxiety, distinguishing meditation methods, personalizing your meditation practice, and do so in an environment which encourages participating at your own pace. We will discuss, write, and practice together with time for questions during each class. You will also have access to additional support resources and will be offered follow-up as needed.
Class size is limited to 10 students.
A series allows your teacher to teach progressively and to tailor the class, theme or goal as they get to know each individual over time. Staying with one group for several weeks also builds commitment, community, and understanding for both the student and the teacher. Research shows that we learn better, feel discomfort less, and are more optimistic when we feel included in community. Our series classes build that kind of inclusion.
