This workshop will foster a strong sense of healing and well-being by exploring the incredibly potent mind-body through yoga, writing, and nutrition. We will examine why and how yoga can help foster healing the mind and body from trauma. We will explore the practices of yoga postures (asanas), study and practice suitable breathing and meditation practices to use on an off the yoga mat, and learn how yoga nidra (a deeply restful yogic ‘sleep’) can be a profoundly healing and restful practice when we are restless mentally and physically. To compliment these nourishing practices, we will also have guest teachers, Corinne Manning and Celia Framson, offer the supportive arts of writing and nutrition as creative and effective tools in supporting us on our journey to quieting trauma in the body and mind.
