The potent mind-body connection provides a gateway to deep healing beneficial to recovery from trauma. To cultivate this path of wellbeing we will explore the yoga of the body, the yoga of the breath, and the yoga of the mind through movement, breath & meditation; writing, and nutrition. Through this gathering you will explore the why & how of yoga as a vehicle for healing from trauma. We will study and practice together suitable breathing and mediation techniques to use with the movement practice and through your daily activities. You will be introduced to yoga nidra (a deeply restful yogic 'sleep') and learn how it can be a uniquely therapeutic and restful practice when we are unsettled mentally and physically. To complement these activities and techniques we will also be joined by Corinne Manning and Celia Framson, who will provide guidance and support in the arts of writing and nutrition on the road to quieting trauma in the body and mind.
