The Breath of Strength & Ease: Using Your Nervous System to Create Change

The element that defines yoga and separates it from other movement activities and therapies is the emphasis on the breath. But even the act of breathing is subject to habits and patterns. Are we directing our breath in a way that is effective to create the changes we aim for? This workshop will explore breathing and how it links to the nervous system, as well as how we can utilize the breath to foster change. Whether our aim is to harness more strength and power, to create greater ease and flexibility, to energize and stimulate, or to facilitate an overall sense of calm, we will learn techniques in the context of specific yoga poses in order to experience the underlying power inherent in the breath.
