Sangha meets Friday mornings 8:00am - 9:25am for 7 weeks, April 22 - June 3.
The intention of this program is to encourage a deepening of our meditation practice and, within the refuge of sangha (spiritual community), to share insights and support for living with wisdom and compassion. We'll begin each of our 7 meetings with a half-hour of meditation followed by an investigation of Dipa Ma--The Life and Legacy of a Buddhist Master.
This is the only written account of the life and teachings of a remarkable woman whose spiritual practice and presence affected all who knew her. In a decades-long struggle, Dipa Ma overcame seemingly impossible obstacles, both personal and cultural, to devote herself to the practice and teaching of meditation. She inspired a generation of western Buddhist teachers including Joseph Goldstein, Sharon Salzburg and Jack Kornfield. Bows to author Amy Schmidt for creating this classic Buddhist biography!
"An inspiring and beautiful book about one of our most beloved elders, a modernBuddhist saint."--Jack Kornfield
