Essentials
For those who want a skilled foundation in yoga through the Anusara Principles of Alignment. Emphasis is on developing strength, resiliency and stamina of the physical body through a respectful and intelligent flowing practice that slowly builds to a pinnacle pose. If you're a beginner, this is the place to start.
Deepening
Stronger class that refines basic asanas, and introduces deeper poses, with special emphasis on gaining confidence in inversions, arm balances, and backbends. Deeper integration of the Principles of Alignment.
Advanced
This practice explores more challenging backbends, balance poses, and arm balances. At least two years of asana experience requested.
Sunrise Yoga
Bring your day sweetly to life with this all-levels morning practice.
Starting with yoga helps the rest of the day flow more smoothly.
Pure Stretch
Sometimes, you just want to stretch. No sun salutations, no strength work, just pure stretch. This class will focus on long holds in yoga stretches, using the Anusara Principles of Alignment to keep your joints integrated and safe, so that you don't overstretch. Excellent class for athletes, those with enthusiastic muscles, and anyone who wants the therapeutic benefits of wise stretching.
Gentle
For those with minor injuries, seniors, or anyone looking for serenity and rejuvenation of body and mind. Benefit from the healing aspects of yoga in this gently paced, integrated movement class.
Back Care & Core Strength
Rediscover your potential for pain-free time in your daily activities. Using breath and movement, you will gain greater access to your range of spinal motion, create overall stability, and cultivate core strength.
Meditation & Movement
Whether you have an existing meditation practice or wish to cultivate one, this class offers you the oppotunity to explore this amazing practice. We will use gentle movement and breath practices to support our time in meditation. All levels are welcome.
Prenatal Yoga
Cultivate a sense of ease, strength and grace with which to meet the challenges of pregnancy, labor, and new motherhood. Appropriate for all stages of pregnancy; postpartum mothers and pre-crawling babies also welcome.
Yoga Nidra
Conscious sleep is a profound practice for deep relaxation. The systematic and guided process of Yoga Nidra penetrates all layers of being to relieve tension and act as a balancing force for challenges of our daily lives. We will begin with 45 minutes of therapeutic yoga, structuring the movement to the needs of those attending class, and finish with a 30-minute yoga nidra practice.
Anusara Yoga 101
A workshop for those who are new to Anusara Yoga or those who want to refresh and clarify their understanding. We'll dive fully into the basic language and practice of Anusara Yoga's Universal Principles of Alignment. Payment includes 1 WEEK OF FREE CLASSES! (Visit our Workshops page for dates.)
Free Community Class
All Levels class offered free of charge, taught by the excellent graduates of our 2010 Anusara Teacher Training program. Everyone welcome.
